Founded in 2018 by a local trekking guide, Tyson, Sumatra Orangutan Discovery is operated by a dedicated team of knowledgeable local professionals. Our guides are fluent in English and have completed comprehensive training, holding official certification from ITGA-HPI.

OUR ACCOMMODATION
Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa and our garden bungalows are available for booking through Booking.com. Situated about 2 kilometers from the main tourist center, the property is surrounded by farmland and lush greenery, offering a quiet and refreshing retreat away from the crowds. Here, you can unwind and enjoy the tranquility of a private tropical garden setting.
To make your stay comfortable and convenient, we provide an on-site restaurant and a tour desk. Our restaurant specialises in wholesome vegan and vegetarian dishes, ensuring fresh and natural flavours in every meal.
Our two garden bungalows each feature a private terrace with views of the garden. Every room includes an en-suite bathroom, complimentary locally sourced toiletries, and clean, comfortable bedding for a pleasant stay.
In addition, we offer a spacious penthouse room located on the top floor of the villa, boasting scenic views of the surrounding forested mountains. This larger room includes a king-size bed (200x200) or twin option (160x200), a private bathroom, and a separate lounge area with its own terrace perfect for guests seeking extra comfort and privacy.
We are committed to responsible and sustainable hospitality. Our eco-conscious initiatives include using environmentally friendly cleaning products, encouraging guests to reuse towels and linens to conserve water, sourcing locally grown organic produce whenever possible, and minimizing the use of single-use plastics.
