Eco-Friendly
Sumatra Orangutan Discovery aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags during our jungle treks. Our goal is to eventually eliminate them from all our activities.
Every day, around 8 million pieces of plastic pollution enter our oceans. Learn how you can help by being a responsible traveler:
-
Bring a reusable bag for shopping.
-
Avoid single-use plastics such as straws (say NO if offered a straw).
-
Choose a reusable raincoat during your trip.
-
Reduce carrying bottled water, which contains dozens of plastic bottles.
-
Pick up trash in protected areas and carry your waste to the nearest bin, or dispose of it properly.
-
Buy high-quality natural products that last longer while traveling.
-
Bring a water filter bottle to avoid using plastic bottles.
