Led by a brave local entrepreneur, this workshop teaches you how to harvest natural scents and colors to create your own handmade products.
This is a fun and family-friendly activity, held at the home of Aini, a local woman with many self-sufficient skills. You will enjoy an open-air class in her organic garden.
First, you will harvest the plants and flowers needed to create your ideal fragrance and color. Once you have designed your soap, the production process will begin.
Drinks and herbal tea will be provided.
Organic Coconut Oil Workshop

The Coconut Oil Making Class lasts approximately 2 hours. Your local English-speaking guide, Aini, will demonstrate the traditional process of making oil directly from fresh coconuts.
This activity takes place at her traditional homestay, which offers stunning views of the rice fields. During the workshop, she will also share insights into local life and her extensive knowledge of Bukit Lawang’s history.
Coconut oil can be used as a versatile moisturizer for hair and skin. It is also an excellent, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative to cooking oil.

Eco-Printing on Fabric Workshop

During this 3-hour course, you will discover the magic of natural eco-printing.
Eco-printing is a unique technique that uses natural dyes and plant pigments to transfer colors and patterns directly onto fabric.
You will have the opportunity to explore the garden area and choose the colors, shapes, and textures you would like to use.
The plant materials are placed onto the surface of your fabric, secured, and then boiled or steamed. This process naturally creates beautiful and intricate patterns.
