1-Village Life Tour with Tuk-Tuk
If you would like to travel responsibly and leave a positive impact on the community, our Village Life Tour is a perfect choice. We support local communities through small-scale projects.
We travel by local becak (tuk-tuk) through rice fields and villages to meet local people and observe or even take part in traditional practices.
During the tour, you will see how palm sugar is made. We will stop at a local family home to watch the process. Once it is ready, you can taste palm sugar juice and try a piece of “Gula Merah,” the final solid sugar cake product. We proudly support traditional methods of sugar production, and by visiting, you help support this family.
Next, we visit a tofu producer, where you can see how soybeans are processed into fresh tofu. If you would like to taste and purchase freshly cooked tofu, you are welcome to do so.
Our tour also passes through local farmland, palm oil plantations, rubber plantations, cacao farms, and rice fields. Along the way, your guide will stop to explain how local farmers harvest and process these crops.
Your tour will then continue with a drive towards the Bahorok River, where you will stop to enjoy a lovely local lunch overlooking the forest and the river.
By the end of this tour, you will feel closer to Indonesian culture and have experienced local life, language, and traditions.
